The earthquake woke us up this morning but we are otherwise fine!

I thought of you both as I was watching live news coverage of the earthquake/tsunami on the NHK website live stream...glad it wasn't catastrophic and relieved not to see much damage. How many earthquakes have you actually felt since being there? Do you ever start to get used to them to where they now feel "routine", or are all of them nerve-racking experiences?

I don't know how many, they seem to come and go in waves. We had another one today but it was smaller and I wasn't even sure if I dreamt it or not until a friend mentioned it too. The one a few days ago was the biggest I can remember since 2011 and the aftershocks we felt arriving here in April of that year. That said when it happened it woke both of us up and we didn't even say anything to each other, we just rolled over and went back to sleep. Maybe we are a little *too* lax about it, I dunno. I guess you sorta get used to them, and my (probably flawed) logic is if our building made it through 3/11/11 then it'll prob make it through most earthquakes that aren't directly under Tokyo. Of course...that's on the forecast according to everyone you ask. hahaha. -E
