I have a large bottle that I was putting 1, 2 and 5 pence (UK) pieces in. Recently I sorted out the individual coins and we used the 2ps at an amusement place on the coin pusher machines, which Racheal loves. I have no idea what I'm going to do with the 1s and 5s though.

Our solution: as you probably know, there are places in Japan you can buy things, and there is just a little wooden box to drop coins into, and it runs on the honor system. They're frequently at shrines and temples. Well, when we are making one of those purchases, if it costs 100 yen, they do get their 100 yen, but we make it RAIN! We were wondering if you had found the Japanese version of a coinstar somewhere.

Hahaha, hope it's not some slight to the gods to give 1 yen coins hahaha. Never seen a "coinstar" system here, but I wouldn't be surprised if something like that existed. -E
