Congratulations! Are you still required to carry your card with you at all times? I'm assuming this replaces your gaijin card as well.

Congrats on PR!! In america you have to pay when you apply (800$) and if you get denied they keep the money. You then have to pay again every time you apply.

Yea, well, it's the same thing, a "resident card" is what it's referred to in both cases. This just says the visa status is PR and has no expiration date. -E
