I live in the US, and to order Calorie Mate off Amazon with Prime shipping runs a minimum of $8.00 a box. I tried two flavors of the product out of curiosity: chocolate and maple. I can understand why Eric hates it. It's not a tasty sweet treat. I don't mind the flavor and texture, but then again I would eat it only to stave off going hungry when I'm not able to eat a proper meal. I think the addition of the vitamins and minerals to boost the nutrition value of the cookie/biscuit only adds to the artificiality of the flavor. Speaking for myself, it would be more palatable when consumed with a tall glass of ice cold full fat milk. Then again, I'm not lactose intolerant. 😉

I remember having a Calorie Mate drink back in the 80s in Hokkaido. I've had the bars as well. I remember them tasting kind of like those boring shortbread cookies you get in the cheap tins at the dollar store.
