Yellowstone and Grand Teton for that matter are absolutely stunning! They are deservedly unique places that I think everyone should visit at some point. That said I think West Yellowstone prices are overly high. I think they get away with it because they are super close to the most popular part of Yellowstone which includes Old Faithful. Places further away like Jackson WY are much more reasonable but there is a bit of a drive to get to the park. Also a lot of places in West Yellowstone are only open when the park is fully open so they only have a few months to make all their money.

If we make it there, maybe we will just sleep in a car and eat peanut butter on tortillas, hahaah. -E

If you book far enough in advance the campgrounds in the park are awesome. And groceries actually aren't too bad in the little grocery stores in West Yellowstone or down in Jackson.
