This is one of the least clear photos of us we have, but one of my favorites. In 2009 after years of saving up we had sold everything we owned and left on a super unplanned trip around the world. This photo was taken the evening of October 10 of 2010 out front the Damascus Gate of Old Jerusalem. It was the last stop on that journey around the world before we headed back to The States and we were in a weird place emotionally as it was the end of something we had worked so long towards and while we were tired and ready for a break from traveling we didn't have any solid plans for our future.

The night this was taken a dude wandered into our hostel and had clearly been beaten to a pulp and robbed recently (see other photos) and we ended up caught up in his insane whirlwind for the evening as we spent the night bouncing around the city with him. It was a weird sensation, almost like being on drugs without having done drugs. At the end of the night we headed back to our hostel together and he took this picture of us right outside of the old city, which, by the way, is an incredible place to walk around at night once the flocks of tourists are gone and all the gummy bear shops (yes really) are closed. It's hard to really express the entire night, from the feeling of heading into the unknown of the future with the rollercoaster of this dude that was in a crazy place in a setting straight out of a movie.

In the morning he had vanished from the hostel by the way, which made it feel all the more like a dream.

Anyways, this of us photo triggers neat memories.

If you don't know how our project began, here's a playlist.
