Greece pretty much was bankrupt in 2010-2017 or so. The debt crisis was bad. So I think they welcome tourists with open hands since many live out of tourism. They had some really tough years. Hopefully the land will recover soon. The weather in Sweden are real strange. In the winter we can have -20 C one day and +1 C a day later. Really crappy winters! And last summer was crazy hot. Over 30 C in the shadow for weeks. And I agree about Swedish food. Swedish fast food doesn't exist I think. Our fast food is Pizza, burgers, thai and so on. But nothing traditional Swedish. We are having the food called "Husmanskost". Basically home made food. That's what many search for when they go out for a lunch :)

Yea, despite the massive tourism people were really warm towards us in Athens. But that's basically how we felt in Southern Europe as a general rule. We were fairly lucky to have good friends in Sweden so we had the chance to try a lot of homemade foods during Christmas and New Years, but it was holiday food rather than "normal" foods. Next time we will visit during a warmer season and see what they cook up for us! -Eric
