2017 Video Roundup! | Thanks Patrons!! (Patreon)

You probably know this, but 2017 was awesome for us, and a huge part of why is because of everyone's support here on Patreon to help us continue our video project. Everyone may not realize this, but having this project helps motivate us all the time to do things we otherwise may never do, and we have explored so many places we otherwise may have lazily ignored.  It's hard to know how to show proper gratitude to people who have helped shape and enrich your entire life, so hopefully a simple "thanks" here will do. Thank you.

Eric:  2017 was a busy one, we returned from Borneo, Kyde spent a few months in the States, I surprised her with a visit to California, we visited Hong Kong, designed and sold t-shirts, bought and learned how to use new camera gear, moved out of our apartment in Tokyo, came to Sweden and put out a video nearly every week! Just typing that out astonishes me, haha.

Kyde:  Yeah, it was super busy but looking back at that list makes it really clear that it was awesome!  You forgot to give my winning T-shirt its full props!

Down below is a list of all the videos we put out this year, what are your favorites?

Eric:  Just glancing along the list "Street Racing in Gunma" and the "Love Doll" videos stick out, but I think the Borneo series in general was my favorite as I feel like I learned so much on that trip in ways I never have before, and also... that roti omg! 

Kyde: Yeah, you picked some good ones!  And with the roti on top...  The US series has a really special place for me because it was showcasing more than just me, but also my reconnection with my home country and family.  The bigger trips are the ones that stand out for me because I do a good bit of planning for them.  Hong Kong and Ibaraki were both amazing and leaving me thinking about much more there is to do in both places.  Along that same line, Tokyo DisneySea was a planner's dream and I have started to crave making amusement park videos!  I wonder what other activities there are out there that would let the planner in my go crazy with the reward being thrills and screaming!

Eric: The video I'm proudest of regarding production and creativity is the "Quiet in ChiChibu" video, and I have a pipe dream of making videos in that style more often. Dipping our toes into shooting videos with others was a lot of fun too, and it's something we are working on expanding on during our trip to Europe. Our livestream video was also a trip, we hope to do it again soon! Lots of experimenting this year, looking forward to keeping that ball rolling this year!

Coming in 2018 is the remainder of the series we shot in Ibaraki, a series we shot in Gunma and a heap of videos from Europe. We've already shot a lot of video about Stockholm and will be headed to London soon where we will be shooting more there. After that we aren't sure where we will be but it's bound to be fun! Of course we will be back in Japan in June and are dreaming of shooting some more Tokyo ward and prefecture videos in the fall. Hope everyone is looking forward to 2018 as much as we are!
