As you were provided spoons for eating, is oyakodon classified as a soup? I'm truly impressed how quickly your long line moved. In the States, you'd probably still have another hour or more wait after you got inside. Curious Patron Bob

No, the spoons don't mean it's a soup, but they do relate to the consistency of the food. Curry rice is another food that they serve with a spoon which also has a runny sauce. So, I think that's just the key to the spoon decision. The line did move pretty quickly, but I think that most Japanese people sense that others are waiting and they don't take their time to eat. Inconveniencing others is just plain wrong! There was a guy in there enjoying a beer to the max, so maybe he wasn't Japanese? -Kyde
