Hello there! In this week's bonus video I've got some ~gossip~ about closeted public figures, and also EVEN MORE examples of gay Bruces -- including an interview where Stan Lee responds to the changing of Bruce Banner's name for the Hulk TV series in the 70s. Also! Thanks to folks who sent me examples of queerness in Hitchcock films, I've got a bit more of that to share including an unlikely link to Madeline Kahn. Plus, I get totally sidetracked and forget what I'm talking about when the subject of Katherine Hepburn arises. As usual.

Also -- Patreon has updated their video player, and hopefully it'll work a little better with the mobile app now! Let me know if you're running into any issues. Here's the backup link in case it's still causing problems: https://vimeo.com/mattbaume/seinfeldbonus5

Love the bonus videos, they are such a treat in between full segments. You may be familiar with it, but here's Nathan Lane talking about being terrified of publicly addressing his sexuality and how Robin Williams came to his rescue in their Oprah interview (not sure if the video is still available on youtube) https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/nathan-lane-recalls-terrifying-moment-oprah-tried-him-i-wasnt-ready-1277239/

I thought there was a shot in Vertigo when (spoilers) Kim Novak's character dies and she's seen with a look of shock a.k.a. ecstasy just as she starts falling. I looked around and found a blog post https://wyatts-classics.blogspot.com/2011/12/psycho-1960-alfred-hitchcock.html which shows the face of the detective getting pushed down the stairs with that kind of expression. Likewise found the expression of Anna Massey when her character was killed in Frenzy: https://johnrieber.com/2018/09/19/a-historical-urban-hike-through-london-my-hitch-hiking-series-6-alfred-hitchcocks-thames-river-swim-to-promote-the-provocative-frenzy/frenzy-1972-movie-review-babs-dead-potato-truck-anna-massey-strangled-alfred-hitchcock/ ... not sure if this fits, but maybe giving some credence to Truffaut's quote.

Regarding rumors of members of Reagan's administration being gay, check out the movie Philomena starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. It's a true story about an Irish girl whose baby was stolen from her, and her journey to track down her child. The twists are so unbelievable that if they weren't true you'd knock the screenwriter for straining credulity.

Have you spent any time looking at the Liberace file in the FBI vault? File #3 deals with Operation Homex/The Chickens and The Bulls and includes some old newspaper clippings about gay rumors about stars. https://vault.fbi.gov/Liberace/Liberace%20Part%203%20of%206/view

Keanu Reeves was rumored to be gay throughout his early career, culminating in a rumor that he had supposedly married David Geffen in a secret ceremony. When asked about his sexuality in interviews, rather than being outraged or denying the rumors, he left things open-ended. There was at least one interview when he was asked point blank "are you gay" and he said something like "maybe." I don't have references on hand, but it's discussed in Alex Pappademas' recent book on Keanu.
