Well hello there! I hope you had a chance to check out my new video about the smashing Rita Moreno, and her absolute triumph of a career. In putting that together, I came across a ton of great stories that I didn't have room for in the final script -- so here they are in a bonus video just for you. (Tap here if the embed doesn't work: https://vimeo.com/mattbaume/ritabonus1 )

We'll start with a fun story from Rita herself about her early days on TV when they would make her wear some truly bizarre makeup, and how she'd wear it as a badge of honor on the subway home. There's also a fun story about an actor (whom she mercifully does not name) making a hilarious screw-up on live TV. Also: A bit of a mystery in her performance of Googie Gomez -- can you understand the line she says??? And I want to share with you some of my favorite bits of her appearance on The Muppet Show.

Thanks as always for making my videos possible! They wouldn't exist if not for your support and I'm forever thankful. <3

Hope you're having a lovely holiday time --

Matt

It’s from Hamlet Act III Scene ii: “Nor do not saw the air too much with your hand…”: Speak the speech, I pray you, as I pronounced it to you, trippingly on the tongue; but if you mouth it, as many of your players do, I had as lief the town-crier spoke my lines. Nor do not saw the air too much with your hand, thus, but use all gently; for in the very torrent, tempest, and, as I may say, the whirlwind of passion, you must acquire and beget a temperance that may give it smoothness. Act III, scene 2, line 1.
