Hello Patreon backers!

I'm bringing you a new thing this month -- Patron-exclusive video messages to update you on some of the fun weird wild stuff I'm working on. (If you can't see the video embedded above, you can also view it here: https://vimeo.com/461564495/c304a96051 )

Right now I'm gathering research for a Culture Cruise video about the 90s sitcom Dinosaurs -- and yes, the show did indeed have a gay episode. Or gay-ish. Kind of. You'll see what I mean.

And I can't wait to show you some of the stuff I've uncovered in my research! Not only was the show just super weird, but it also ties in with a gay dinosaur hunter of the 1800s who lived an incredible life -- he was a spy, a Transylvanian count, and he once named a prehistoric species after his boyfriend's butt. It's amazing.

Honestly I can't explain everything about it -- or even much -- but I did at least figure out what show they THOUGHT they were making.

I am incredibly excited for this next video. :D (I was a total dinosaur nut as a kid — still kind of am — which is probably why I watched that sitcom in the first place. At this point, all I really recall is the baby’s catchphrase, though...

I loved this video. And Dinosaurs was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I particularly loved the episode where Charlene (the daughter) gets her tail as a metaphor for growing up. I always wanted an actual tail and annoyed my oh mom about why humans don’t have them so I remember that episode really well. There are a few other episodes I remember well but not this gay-ish one so it was great to learn more about it and dino science!
