Tier Changes for New Patrons Next Month (Patreon)

Hi friends!

I’m going to be making some adjustments to the reward tiers next month, and I wanted to let you know what’s going to change and what isn't.

Here’s the TL;DR version: Your pledge amount and rewards will remain the same, unless you decide to change them.

And here’s more details about exactly what’s happening:

Starting September 1, I’m going to be changing the tiers that are available when someone first signs up. My goal is to make it easier for new Patrons to understand what they get with each tier, and to choose the level that works for them.

For existing patrons (that’s you!) nothing will change. The amount that you’re pledging will stay the same, and the rewards that you get won’t change either. But if you want to switch to one of the new tiers, you’ll be able to do so after September 1.

Here’s what the new tiers will be:

• $2/month: Friend of Dorothy! Every month, you’ll get an exclusive Patrons-only video update in which I’ll show you what I’m working on, give you a sneak peek at what to expect in the coming weeks, and share some of the fun, weird, and surprising materials that I’ve unearthed as I make new videos and podcasts.
• $5/month: Dash of Lavender! Your name will appear at the end of each new Culture Cruise video. You’ll also get the video updates and behind-the-scenes material from the $2 tier. (Existing patrons at $5 and up will also have their names included in the credits.)
• $10/month: Hint of Mint! You’ll get early ad-free access to all new Culture Cruise videos, via an exclusive Patron-only link. Plus you’ll get all the rewards of the previous tiers.
• $20/month: Artistically Inclined! Join at this level and you’ll get a nice big care package in the mail, complete with a postcard, stickers, 1” buttons, a Culture Cruise temporary tattoo, and a bookmark celebrating a queer cultural icon. You’ll also get an official Culture Crew membership card and a jaunty sailor cap so you can go cruising whenever you want! Plus you get all the rewards of the $2, $5, and $10 tiers.
• $50/month: Delicate Sensibilities! You’ll get all of the rewards of the previous tiers, plus a little extra! Your care pack in the mail will include a signed paperback copy of my book, Defining Marriage, plus a glamorous signed 8.5x11” photograph. And you’ll get a bigger credit at the end of Culture Cruise videos!

Just to be clear, if you’re happy at your current level, you can stay there. Your pledge won’t change. But you’re welcome to switch to one of the new tiers starting on September 1. 

And if you're pledging $5 and up, you'll be included in the names that are listed at the end of YouTube videos.

I’m also looking at the various projects that I make, and I’ll be making some tweaks to those in the coming weeks as well. I’ll have more details for you about those as soon as plans are firmed up.
