The first time I listened to this, got about 5 mins in and heard the lines about "home"....it hit me like a freight train and I just started bawlin' like a babe. To be honest, every time I've listened to those words since I tear up. I left Kentucky 20 years ago and settled down in ATX 14yrs ago, but Cam, your words gave me a lovely gift, and a reminder, of where home still is for me. Thank you.

getting to the part that mentions why merrilee left home, i teared up. i too left my little appalachia town for valid reasons, but it will always be home in my heart no matter how far i drift. love your writing 💜
