THE HOLLER is open to new residents! (Patreon)
Content
Hey there, family. As you know from our Family Meeting feed drop on October 18th (if you haven't yet, head on over and listen or read the transcript now), Old Gods of Appalachia has launched our own paid subscription service, THE HOLLER. The Holler is powered by Supercast, a platform that focuses specifically on the needs of podcasters and their listeners.
Why the change?
Supercast will give us greater control over the content that we bring to our subscriber family. Their platform also brings to the table a lot of features that you folks have asked for, such as:
Support for multiple feeds
Many of you folks have asked about separating our content to into multiple feeds so it's easier to find the stories you're looking for. In the Holler, we're organizing our episodes into four distinct feeds:Old Gods of Appalachia Ad-Free: The ad-free version of our regular season and publicly available bonus episodes.
The Holler Subscriber Exclusives: All our subscriber exclusive stories (like Build Mama a Coffin and Black Mouthed Dog) collected in one place.
OGoA Music and Soundscapes: All our music-related drops.
Steve + Cam Read: A separate feed for episodes of Steve Reads and Cam Reads
Curated playlists
With the Holler, we're able to organize different storylines into playlists for you, so it's easy to find all the episodes of your favorite storylines, such as "The Wolf Sisters" or our holiday specials.Integration with your favorite podcast player
The Holler doesn't require you to download another app, and makes it much easier to add your subscriber feeds to the podcatcher of your choice with one easy click. The Holler also includes the Spotify integration we know some of you have been hoping for.No Apple fee hike
One of the many reasons behind our choice to make a move away from Patreon is the coming price hike for iOS users who subscribed through the Patreon app (a problem Patreon could resolve by simply directing folks to subscribe through their website rather than paying through app, but chooses not to). It's not fair to you. It's not fair to us.Responsive customer support
We've heard from so many of you that your experiences with Patreon's support team have been frustrating at best. We know from your anonymous exit surveys that a good portion of folks who have unsubscribed have done so because of issues with billing or technical problems that Patreon never fully addressed. With Supercast, both we and you will have guaranteed access to friendly, helpful customer support that responds in a timely fashion.Gift memberships
A lot of folks have asked about this. Gifting subscriptions will be supported for the Holler.
