Dev Log Clean Up

Just a really quick skim going over what's changed or happened since the last time I chatted on here that was mentioned or brought up in the last dev log. New details will be down below so, I'll do my best to be quick.

Being in Sweden has been going insanely well for productivity as was forecasted in the previous log. Not only have I currently finished and published five fully colored and shaded images, I still have at least one more on the way to be finished this month (but posted on the 1st of June) at least! Writing productivity will be listed below.

When it comes to drawing Kazumi outside of Mochi Moshi before it's release I think I want to get at least one or two more drawings out to "finalize" how I want to represent her before the massive production of sprites and CGs. This might not seem like a lot but I'm talking full colored images with details of her clothing in ways not yet represented, mainly behind view at least. Sure all of this is in the concept art but that's old... Maybe I can show it if I haven't...

The rest of the last log went into stuff I'm going to continue to talk about next. That's basically the "real" part of the dev log.

Script Progress

I have finished another two routes since the last time we talked and am finally picking up speed again. No definitive date on finishing the script but as said in the last log I want to make it somewhere between one year of the games funding (August 23rd) and one year of starting the script (October/November). This is a realistic goal and might sound like a bummer if you're expecting the game to be out before 2022. As said a couple logs ago, the script is taking a considerably longer chunk of time to write than expected and might end up actually being the largest part of the game.

Now I don't want to say this is going to be a wordy game, I want to remind you there are 24 endings to this game with 64 nodes beyond the intro of unique instances all about 850-1000 words long. And with the rough math laid out we're looking at around a 60,000 word visual novel. That takes a lot of time to actually write out and be coherent with the character's feeling semi consistent through the whole story. Now I say "semi" because this is a transformation game and technically at the end of every route you are left with twenty four separate instances of Kazumi.

Kazumi Kontinuum

This is only semi overplaying what this actually means but... 

As your actions and guidance of Kazumi changes her physical appearance, her experiences shape how she thinks and acts towards the main character and influences what her career is shaped to be as an influencer online. This is a large part of how the story is written. Kazumi herself has a very consistent character in her mannerisms and basic morals which keeps her personality changes very grounded. She will never act rude, out of turn or yell at the player character aggressively. She won't turn to violence, vulgarities or even have a bitchy attitude. These are ideas that are very grounded in her morals and won't change on a dime because she went to a spa and got a huge ass or anything. Also considering this is a light hearted fetish game, you can expect that the way Kazumi changes, reacts and comments on what's going on to be playful and cheeky. 

One more note on Kazumi's personality that might be a disappointment for some people and an excitement to others but we are writing Kazumi to be very positive and happy with whatever changes come to her. Any weight gain, expansion, change in interest, etc... will be treated with playfulness, delight, and exploration. That's not to say she can't complain about certain aspects of her growth, it just means that she will not put down the idea of being larger than she was. Again, this is a very light hearted game and I do not want to write a conflict of self to be deprecating. There is still conflict in the story, but as forward progression takes place rather quickly compared to a lot of visual novels it's not like she will be having a Steins;gate adventure.

Okay to wrap up back to what I was talking about before. Every Kazumi you get at the end of each route is technically a "different Kazumi." This is very obvious given the fact that her body grows, but in personality and experiences as well. I hope you all can choose a favorite Kazumi or even explore what another version could be at the end of your time with the game.

Twenty Fifth Route

Back when I first asked for funding on this game the final goal was a 25th ending. That is something that won't be worked on until the very end of the game's scripting and life cycle. You won't hear about that for a while but I want to bring this up because if you've been paying attention I tend to not talk about it. There is a very clear idea with what I want to do with it and it's going to be a very fetishy, probably "non-canon" interpretation of Kazumi but I hope you all have fun with it. More details on this after I finish the main script completely.

Thank you again for supporting me on this project. It's been a complete treat every time I get to work on more of it and I'm very excited for the final product. As we get closer and closer to the middle of this year the pace at which I work ramps up so please expect more updates to have good news and not slow news. I would consider this one to be pretty good and fun in itself.
