I should really start naming these things! I mean we're fourteen posts in, which is like 8 months at this point! Yeah this game has been in the works for a while but honestly that's super exciting.

The One Piece of Tempering News

I do have some bad news to front load this with, but only because I want to hopefully still make up on this! The bad news is I don't know if I can finish the script by July. But, that gives me a challenge to try and get as close to that as possible. After buying a Bluetooth keyboard, writing basically anytime I can has become easier. So ultimately... Is this bad news? Not really, but I do want to temper expectations.

Writing a script that's the length of a novel, keeping character consistency and making it actually enjoyable and not passable low tier smut dialog is, a lot of effort! The actual good news here is that there's never been a roadblock in writing and actual development of the story. Writing in general just takes a lot of energy, almost more than drawing. 

Personal Life

Oh no, when you usually see these two words they mean bad things! Yeah but I already got rid of all the bad news up front! So... This must be good news right? Yup!! I'm back in Sweden, which is not my native country, and I get to enjoy physical time with my girlfriend. What does this mean for Mochi Moshi though? It means that productivity on ALL of my work, writing, drawing what have you!

Last time I was in Sweden, I drew a Samus image for Patreon. That picture being one of my favorite pictures I ever worked on. I'm also here for three months, so I hope to get myself into gear with writing without having the exhaustion of working too hard while presumably working hard. Final bit on this is to say that I've finally settled in. The Evelyn drawing I just uploaded was fully finished and shaded while I was here and I've already started on the Ramona flowers drawing for May 1st. Things are going extremely well and on time.

Extras

I wanna tackle this first to kinda clarify to those of you who are generous enough to continuously support this project monthly. The Kazumi requests aren't going to be done monthly but will be done whenever I have extra time. I'm drawing my ocs more often, at least once a month, so when I'm not drawing Omi, Evelyn or any of my other girls, Kazumi gets to take the main spotlight for what you guys want to see. I'm planning on making my next drawing a more top and middle heavy drawing with thin-ish hips and ass just to exaggerate the fact that she's going to have multiple different routes and options you can take her through and get practice not drawing door wedging hips! I know that sounds a bit disappointing but for those of you who are like me, it's really good to see someone who hasn't had a quad-chair wielding ass get one. The only problem is you need to draw that thin ass first!!

Second on the extras, I'm going to be considering how to implement in-game Patreon thanks credits. I know people generally skip these when they're in credits of games and scroll 100000 times speed so I'm probably going to have it accessible separate from actual credits, but still in game. When the time comes, and this is going to be a long time from now, I'm going to send requests for names people want included in those credits. I don't know how I'm going to try and collect past subscribers names from people personally when the time comes. I know it's gunna be a headache but I want to properly embed thanks to people in the game they've waiting to come out. These are going to be opt-in, won't contain private information and won't be included unless you specify that you want to be in it.

"Okay but how is the script going?"

Honestly, truly honestly, it's going fantastic. As stated earlier in the post writing is exhausting but every time I get to it its a breeze. All of the prep work me and my co-writer have put into developing Kazumi and the gameplay loop made taking the writing in chunks very approachable. Every single time I sit down to write I finish a node in the story (An in-game week). I think all of the generalized prep work for Mochi Moshi took about two months? This is something I don't actually know. It's safe to say I've been writing the game's actual script for about five-six months now though, which is both a long time and not very long at all.

Stated earlier though, I don't think I can finish it before July because it's still a lot of work I have to get to. If I did work on the script every day I would be able to finish it well before July, but I have to balance drawing as well. The good thing about writing is taking a week break doesn't mean your writing skill becomes worse, the same cannot be said about drawing. That being said I'm thankful for all the support on Mochi Moshi because it's actually made the progress for the game go extremely fast and extremely smooth. I cannot thank you enough!

How About Some Spoilers?

Before you read this section I want to say that these spoilers are not specifically story spoilers. This is an inside look on how we write the story, how the game's structure works and how we're making it possible to do a TWENTY FOUR unique endings kind of game. If you want to skip this part just scroll until you see the next section title, or just back out now! Before you go I do want to say thank you completely for your support and I hope you have a wonderful rest of April!

This is gunna be about locations, how they work in the game and what that means from a gameplay and story perspective. I want to make this sort of insight smaller and dive deeper into it later but, for now lets get into it!

For this dive, I'm going to use a "Breast Expansion" route as example. The first location you can choose for Kazumi to visit includes an ice cream store called the "Milk Bar." This location locks you into the "Breast Expansion" path, meaning that no matter what, her breasts will be getting heavier. From here you can choose a location that will then add another modifier on her, like a boba tea location, for example. In the boba tea cafe Kazumi will start putting on weight for that week, in addition to her breasts growing. This means her chest will always be at it's largest, and have more growth than her weight gain for this route.

"But what if I want her to gain weight first?" you might ask. Then you choose something like the cake buffet for her first location. This will ensure that you're locked into the weight gain path and that no matter what Kazumi does her belly grows fatter, along with light breast and ass growth to make sure she's not too beer gutty. After this you would, for example, go to a boba tea place which then adds a "Breast Expansion" modifier.

If you've noticed I said boba tea in both of these examples. There's a location chart that my co-writer and I developed that helps re-use locations but in different contexts. The boba tea location will always be breast expansion if it's in weight gain main path, or weight gain if it's in the breast expansion main path. The boba tea location will NOT show up if you're in an ass expansion or lazy transformation main path. What Kazumi does at the boba tea place will be different every single time she shows up there, unless replaying routes. There is also a high possibility that the boba tea place she goes to in one route is not the same as another. All of this is contextual and depends on the story you are going throw. This allows flexibility and prevents stagnation while also allowing players who have played the game previously to infer what location is going to change Kazumi in the way they want.

Phew! That was a lot more said about the game than I thought it'd be. I hope the new, more detailed information about the game is exciting.
