Project Android Update #10 (Patreon)

And here we are in March! One year since the initial inception of the idea of this visual novel. I didn't start posting about it on Patreon until later but it really has been one whole year. I wish I could have made a grander announcement with the one year anniversary but unfortunately March has been a very rough month for me.

Before I get into the actual work done with Project Android I must lay out that this month had a large stand still in any production on anything because of family emergencies that have lead into extremely sad/dire news about a family member very close to me. I don't mean to use this as an excuse but, by the way things happened, a halt of progress is exactly what ended up happening regardless. April is going to be stricken with another announcement of grief and I'm debating on whether or not that will be public or not, but I'm more ready for that than ever.

Alright!!! Just going to jump into it now!!

Writing on the introduction of the game is paused with intentions jumping to the middle of the game, the meat. The decision of me to do this is this: I don't want to work on an introduction of the game, get to the meat of the game, rewrite the intro to elude to things I've developed in the meat on a whim, and cycle back and forth with this sort of knowledge. If I start with the meat, most fun of the game, with the assumption that the Android and the player are already acclimated with each other, progress will be smoother.

What is the meat of this game even? What the hell is this game?

Well let me tell you. This game is a sci-fi mystery drama game where you learn more about the AI you're talking to, the company about it, why she was developed, internal affairs, silly jokes etc...

The gameplay loop after the fake out dating sim act is going through a website filled with information, pictographs, pictures, internal emails, psudocode, documentation, everything and feeding it back to the Android. She then explains it, talks about it, jokes about it or just interacts with it for fun. You learn more about her personality, she learns more about you, and you both learn more about what she really is and why this problem keeps happening.

I'll explain the actual connection between the "fake" website and the ren'py visual novel in a later date.

The Problem

This is spoilers so please stop here if you want to go into this game blind. This is mild spoilers though and is just how the ball gets rolling. Although you know this is a weight gain game so this is how this comes into play.

Alright light spoiler time. The problem is, the more you talk to the Android the more she starts to gain weight! But why is it happening? Why is it that when she talks to you she's getting fatter. How does an Android even get fatter? That's what you have to find out. As our android gal plumps more and more due to seemingly random instances, you find out the secret behind her and why her form keeps inflating.

Why doesn't she have memory about herself more than just surface information? Why is she getting fatter? Why does she want to talk to people? More questions and other goofiness will come to light when this game comes out.

This game's final release date is TBD. I cannot say if it is coming out this year or next, just bare with me and thank you for supporting me <3
