I quadruple checked I was watching the right show earlier today, just waiting for our villainess.

Haha yes you can probably tell during the opening I was genuinely questioning whether I stop recording or not xD

I had a similar first impression and went "Fuck.. that is rough..." xD Unless I'm seriously misremembering what I read; the majority of the first half of this episode is Anime original. I do think that it is a good summary and introduction to the heroine and the romance targets, and a lot of people seem to have fallen for the rug pull, so I'd say that this was done pretty effectively. I'm still worried about how this series is going to be adapted, but I'm pretty satisfied with this first episode. I'm also glad to see that they are keeping/doing some of the chibi forms and faces from the manga, I always thought that those were adorable! Side note, if you have happen to have any questions about this series feel free to ask and I’ll likely be able to explain.

I think the writers did the false starting because Truck-kun is so much of a cliche, and they wanted to end the episode on the level measurement which comes very early in the story, so they just used the game scenario as padding. But it did go on too long. "That poor dungeon" indeed. She cleared it so many times that the Dullahan boss (who shouldn't have remembered his prior lives) got more and more afraid of her each time. The show makes it look like she's the "final boss" rather than the "hidden boss". I think that in the original story, she didn't even show up as a hidden boss until after a game update. And she was level 99 at the *end* of the game but the game never explained why, or how she got that way. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this -- though maybe not to watching her use her healing power.
