Yeah, I would have to imagine a lot of people look back on this part and wish the author would have done...literally anything else to introduce Runa. It's just so weird and unnecessarily brutal compared to the rest of the story, and all it succeeds in doing is ensuring a portion of readers/watchers will never forgive Runa even though from a meta POV we're all kind of aware it has little to do with who she will actually be as a character from this point forward. It's weird how often this kind of thing happens. I'll give it some credit - Runa being a literal child + Yamada, Eita, Kamota taking it very seriously and being genuinely angry at her + Akane being too sweet for her own good DOES all allow it to 'work out' in a more realistic way than just the typical "aaaand we're just going to pretend that didn't happen" that most anime would pull. Like it's nice to know that Eita is almost definitely going to go off on her later and Runa will be taught *why* what she did was so dangerous. So it like, works...I guess. And it's why I can deal with it in this story. But at the end of the day, it's like, man the author also just didn't need to do it at all lol.

Yeah I don't think Runa comprehended what exactly she was doing at all while she was doing it and I honestly feel like the situation was very much handled in a realistic way personally. She did something absolutely terrible and everyone is aware of that, she's gonna get scolded hard for it and it very much seems to me like she's learned her lesson here. I understand why people would think this just shouldn't have been in the story in the first place but with the way things have just sorta worked out with meeting people they met online 100% of the time before in this anime, I think it's good that in this situation we got to see the flip side of that treated in a very serious way.

I think it wouldn't have been that bad if it was just some weird guy she met up with, but once he went into the women's restroom, it passed the threshold of weirdo into dangerous.

I used to work as a bouncer at a bar, and every now and then, we'd have to go into the ladies bathroom and tell some dude, that didn't get the hint, that the lady he was trying to talk to, went into the bathroom to avoid him, because she wasn't as interested in him as he was in her... And it wasn't just the guys who couldn't take a hint, one time we had to tell some lady, who was in the men's bathroom, the same thing... So, after telling them, that that kind of conduct was not allowed, and that they were no longer would be allowed in the bar. They would get upset, at the person they were trying to talk to, like it was that person's fault, that they had gotten themselves thrown out the bar... Some peoples kids...😏
