I took that scene where Iroha asks about hachiman being held back as her wanting to spend more time with him and end up becoming prom king and queen together and the reason she wants to do it this year is the same cause its the only time she can do it with hachiman. I don't think she actually likes hayama and thats the front she puts up to cover up her feelings for hachiman

I agree. At this point, her chase for Hayama is obviously still just a facade. Remember when Hayama rejected her, he mentioned how he had the feeling the words and feelings were meant for someone else.

And so Yukino's journey and the romance side of the plot is finally kicking off. If Season 2 was about breaking down the facades and coming to the realization of wanting something genuine.. season 3 is that struggle to find something genuine by being open with what they want. The struggle to be selfish for yourself at the expense of the status quo, and believing that the trio is genuine enough to still push forward together even after those choices, that will definitely cause pain to someone, have been made.
