Katia died for a second and Shun was able to revive her because he's the Hero and had enhanced Holy magic. It seems like the mind control is broken. Also, and this is speculation, I think the elves trying to kidnap Sophia that Kumoko killed worked either with or for Oka-sensei. She said before she had a village where she gathered the other reincarnations and that may be how she was doing it.

2021-08-31 20:48:51 They said they needed to CAPTURE the baby, and KILL ALL THE OTHER HUMANS (so parents & that blue haired butler thingie or w/e), since the others weren't necessary (if their boss Potimas (he is the Chief of the Elves, remember?) has Appraisal or stuff like that, it'd be obvious which ones are Reincarnations due to the skill n%I=W, which has been shown on all the Reincarnations so far, and on nobody else. So the Elves are likely hunting ppl w/ that Skill (remember Oka-chan said that 11 of the Reincarnations have been rescued to the Elf Village already, but I'm not sure if she knows the means the Elves use to "rescue" those kids, if Sophia's "rescue" seems to be any indication of, at any rate), for reasons as of yet unknown. I mean they prolly are doing it cuz Oka pleaded w/ Potimas (her father, as you might have guessed since she was in that meeting where Potimas was w/ the King of Analeit, and the 3 oldest kids of his), but more than that we just have to wait to hear more, I suppose

Surely they work for Potimas, no? He's he Chief of the Elves, so it works either way, considering Filimos/Oka is his daughter (which is the reason she was in that meeting alongside Potimas, just like King of Analeit's 3 oldest kids were in that meeting alongside him). It makes sense w/ Sophia's comment about Potimas' blood being filthy to the core or w/e

Maybe? Although as you said he would never had done it if it wasn't for her. And I doubt she's completely ignorant as to what they were doing as she always seems to know a lot more than she lets on. Would probably justify it as "for their own good."
