Rudy was suspiciously casting a spell under that ball thingie, and it was activating at the same time. Also like how Ghislaine can see it is some serious mana, Almanfi likely saw that Rudy has a rly fucking high mana pool (thus theoretically capable of the spell or w/e, at least mana wise), so he followed his orders because those raised all of the multiple flags (the means, the location & he was even casting a spell, thus he was starting to manipulate his internal mana, so that would had skewed him as it is, since he was ordered to eliminate anyone suspicious immediately, and Rudy triggered 3 flags at the same time), so you can't rly blame him
