BTW as lesser dragons, it makes sense that the Ground Dragons have a more coherent voice than any of the other animals, since they are almost human-level in basic sentience, even if it's not 100% as refined as what Humans or Dragons have. They are also some of the most loyal animals ever, as you can witness w/ Patrasche towards Subaru, or Fulfew towards Otto (Fulfew is the THICCer Ground Dragon, and she's been w/ Otto since infancy, as one of his oldest constant friends), which I suppose makes sense given their relative level of sentience when comparing to Humanoids
