They did point out that they were going to a Neutral City. It's basically a region (the map areas that are white, and not either the color used for the Empire or the Sovereignty) of city-states etc that have varying stances of neutrality, with varying rules. Basically they fuck you up if you start fighting while in the city premises as a member of either of the 2 big places.

By the way, Ryu, was wondering if you're gonna react to Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear? It kinda reminds me about Bofuri (Shield loli) and has the same kind of cuteness and OP main character and such, so I think it would be right up your alley!

pretty confident in this series, Silverlink has been nailing it lately imo plus I wonder something how to seasonal trends in Anime happen? So far Re:Zero, strike witches, burn the witch,Elaina and now this all witch related. That's a bit more then a coincidence and that's kinda like how Beastars, BNA, and a couple other minor animal based anime happened in the same 6 month period, it kinda fascinates me really.
