Random otaku factoid. The neko Gina noticed is actually a doggo, aka a Kobold. Kobolds are sprites from Germanic mythology that manifest in different forms according to their nature and the environment they are found in. Anthropomorphic wolf style forest kobolds were included as monsters in early Dungeons & Dragons and a transcript of a D&D campaign was the basis of the franchise Record of Lodoss War. Monster Musume mangaka Okayado uses this version of Kobolds in his books. Synecdoche (creator of Plus-Sized Elf) and others depict kobolds as a hobbit like race because they often manifested as child-like creatures in the early mythology. Naturally this allows them to make a notable Lord of Rings race public domain.
