Ok for some reason they cut content that is important which was said during the Tea Party; most importantly, the explanation that Satella has a multiple personality disorder, hence the personalities "Satella" and "Witch of Envy", as explained by Echidna to Subaru during the Tea Party in the LNs. Dunno why they skipped this shit tbh, seems kinda vital to not have the viewers be confused rly. This is caused by the fact that she took an incompatible Authority, which is presumably what fucked Betelgeuse up, since he has the Authority of Sloth, which based on his behavior doesn't match his personality. Especially since Beatrice seems to think of him fondly, so he must have been way different before he gained the Authority of Sloth or something?
