Just for clarification in case it wasn't obvious, Pauls letter is an answer to a letter Rudy sent a year and a half ago, about meeting up with Elinalise and going to Ranoa Magic University, not the on the marriage he sent last episode. While it tends to be faster than traveling yourself, since there is no need for extended rest, it can just be given to the next courier, even letters take a long ass time to arrive in this world.
