Public Update: Gonna keep things paused for awhile! (Patreon)

Hey folks, if you're a paid subscriber to this page you may have noticed you didn't get charged on May 1st despite me saying you would in my last update; that's because I've decided to give this page a break to focus on other projects for awhile. Keep on reading if you'd like to get some more details about what "awhile" means exactly, buckle up this is a long one (TL;DR at the bottom of course!).

For a long time I've largely considered this page similar to a tip jar and I said as much in an update post way back when. I tend to upload sketches and illustrations on my various galleries (Twitter/Eka's) and I considered the money I was earning from this page to just be a bit of encouragement to indulge in whatever fantasy I felt like drawing on any given day. That being said, as things sit there's a few reasons why I feel like it might be time to change up that approach and take a break from this page.

First reason for this is just that I've been running this page for something close to 10 years, and the monthly pinups have gotten a tad stale at this point. Nothing against anyone's suggestions of course; always fun to see you guys participating and voting on things, but it's just difficult to find the motivation to set aside enough hours to get those finished every month. I routinely fall behind on them, and I want to stress, it's not because they're some massive load of work, I'd just... rather be drawing other stuff. Nothing terribly earth-shattering there hopefully!

Second, Patreon itself is becoming more and more... unstable as a platform for artists like myself. Feels like every year new rules and guidelines are tightening and they're just slowly trying to choke out any adult works outside of "missionary position for the purposes of procreation." I make it a point to keep my works lighthearted and fun for the most part, and I'll keep this page up for as long as I am allowed to, but there's just so much stuff here, who knows what random upload from 2015 might get flagged someday. It's one of the reasons I've kept my comics page as "guideline friendly" as I possibly can.

Finally, life is just a bit different for me these days! My interests and goals have shifted in the past couple years, and I just feel like exploring other ideas and projects rather than putting my time into maintaining this page right now; it makes sense financially for me to get more comics out there, and it makes sense motivation-wise for me to take a break from the monthly fan art to do other stuff. And I do want to emphasize, I am still making stuff, it's just this page I need a break from.

So then, where do things go from here? Well, here's the plan: I'm gonna keep this page paused for at least a few months, unfortunately Patreon forces me to come back every month to manually pause the payout system instead of just letting me turn it off for a few months, but that's what I intend to do. I'm going to keep this page paused until at least July (meaning you won't be charged for anything until August 1st at the absolute earliest), and before the end of July I'll be posting another update here to let you guys know if I plan on continuing the pause, or if I intend to change things up around here in a more... fundamental way.

What do I mean by that? Well right now I am not planning to simply turn this Patreon page back on and resume doing things as I have been once the pause is over. I think there's two more likely directions I'd want to go with things. The first would be to simply turn this page officially into a tip jar, remove all expectation of any content going here (save for maybe a monthly art pack) and call it good. The other idea I had, which I'm much more excited for, is to perhaps clean this page up entirely, delete the archive (which I would give ample warning for, rest assured), and "start over" with a new project I've been toying with in secret for awhile, specifically a vore game. No promises of course, but it would be a fun change of pace to have a single project like that to dedicate this page to (I'll share more about this idea if I feel like it's going to be feasible; right now I'm gonna keep details secret to not get anyone's hopes too high).

So what should you do? Well, you're welcome to stick around! You won't be charged of course, and once I plan to turn the payouts back on I will give plenty of heads up, so don't worry. That being said, if you'd like to continue supporting me directly, I'm always happy to have more people supporting my comics! If you're currently pledging $5/month here and instead go join the 2$/upload tier over there you'll likely end up paying either the same amount or less each month since I typically only get two (very occasionally three) pages uploaded there each month. I'm about to start on the next chapter of Starcross in the very near future, so now's a great time to join.

I'll be back to toss you guys another update this summer, but right now I just need a little break from this page; I hope you all can understand! TL;DR: Taking a break from this page to focus on other stuff, it will remain up but you will not be charged until August 1st at the absolute earliest if you stay pledged. I will still be active on all the other pages I'm normally active. I will probably be changing up how this page works when I pop back in to update you all again come July.
