Passage of time

***

Well, here it is! I sent out rewards for pages 37 & 38.

The title of the page is strangely appropriate. Xenomorphosis: Dark Dreams will soon be 4 years old - the first page was posted here on 31 Oct 2018.

This is a bittersweet occasion - on one hand, it's incredible I've managed to stick to this project for so long (it was supposed to be a 10 page short at first). Even incomplete, I consider it my biggest achievement to date - 38 pages and counting of a sci-fi erotic journey, visually and narratively more ambitious than anything else I've done.

On the other, of course, there's the frustration and sadness about the painfully slow pace of completing new pages and the long involuntary hiatuses. 38 pages after 4 years feels like an underachievement, all things considered. I thought about giving up. I thought about cutting my losses and rushing through to the end to wrap it up. And maybe I should have, but I just can't, this story wants to be told in full.

The silver lining is that you guys also stuck with me through all this time - I would have never thought people would follow a weird, slow-burn, long-winded porn comic that updates less than once a month on average, *for 4 years*. Thank you for that, hope we can see this journey through to the end and see what awaits beyond (hopefully not too long from now).

I can understand feeling like 38 pages is not enough in 4 years. But you have to remind yourself the amount of work you put in each page. You're doing all this yourself, you're not an factory or arm of publishing giant. Just one person pouring over a single page doing everything from line art, coloring, and lettering. Not to mention the writing and scripting. I say to you, keep at it. Don't rush the project just because you're feeling like an underachiever. Give yourself a fair chance to see if you can give us 38 more quality pages. Just keep going... You're doing great work!

Thank you for your unwavering support and kindness. I'm still proud of what I've done so far, I just wish I was more efficient at it. But I'm a stubborn dumbass so maybe there is a chance I will finish this in my lifetime.
