There's something about our anger and sadness...the guilt and shame in us....reminds us that we have any character at all. Most souls don't ever intend to hurt anyone. It's not usually in our nature. I know a large part of you is that way, not wanting to hurt anyone. It's easy to look down on ourselves though. To get lost in our problems and get eaten up. To get angry and sad until we just can't take it anymore.

It's difficult to forgive ourselves sometimes for who we are and what we have done. But it's okay to have mercy on yourself and see that things can change, and that you can change. Even if you're not sure right now or for a bit.

It's easy to let that guilt become the whole thing and make us feel worse. But we don't get better that way. We don't redeem ourselves through punishment, and punishment alone. We redeem us through remembering what we've done, and trying to grow stronger because of it. For recognizing the judge we look into the eyes of is us, and our true penance begins when we look to integrate, not separate.

It's okay to cry sometimes, man. You're feeling something very powerful like you always have. Just don't let those tears become everything. Don't let that pain become everything. You're too good a person to be dragged back down.

I love your eloquence so much. It helps me see through the innate opaqueness of trying to express oneself, and it brings such esoteric beauty with it.

I really appreciate that, friend. It is and will always be my hopes that these thoughts and words will help others open doors they didn't know were there, and see something in themselves for the better.
