Good evening my dears! I hope you are all doing alright tonight. I just wanted to drop on by in between the commission work and..w-work..to lay a sketch I had of a character I've decided to call Till. A rather tired sort in a smoke laden shop who talks about a curious social response they take notice of.

It's something I call the door holding effect. Something I'll be delving deeper into eventually as this will be another mini support project. For now however I can provide a brief summary. In short, now and again I take notice of individuals who hold open doors for others and should the one who walks through not say a word or thank them, the one holding the door often calls them out and begins to harass them.

It's a rather unfortunate thing but the implication goes well beyond the concept of simply holding a door open for someone. At the end of the day we have to ask what drives our passions, our responses and devotions. Do we wish to be kind because we can be or because we want to be praised for it? Are we creators and dreamers because we truly desire to or do we desire to be told we are great at what we do? Shall we turn on those that do not give us what we sought, or shall we be on our way as we seem to always be? Seeking balance is always a tough remedy, but beginning on that path we have to ask ourselves if we'll treat our morals and kind deeds as generosity or an investment we expect in full.

Something to think about until the full mini project finds it's way. Until then, you all stay safe, enjoy some sketches and perhaps tease your thoughts with new ideas. We can only go up from here 'eh?
