Hey Shane with this new plant it just came to me, but is this one or the last based on any plant specifically?

No actually! They were designed more symbolically than anything in mind. Though funny enough a most kind soul has mentioned that Weedilia's design reminds them of the Martynia annua weed, due to the fact they're white and can develop "fangs" as they dry. As for our current little critter, I based them off the Caltrop Bindi weed!
