Well my little wigglers ( that somehow sounds wrong but work with me! ) today is another day and it is quite the pleasant afternoon! Up for download is the next page of Hissed Connections. Oh what is to become of them?! Also up for download is the original sketch I had for the snake character which like all great things it seems, came to me right before bed that night.

You know, sometimes we really do just not give ourselves a break. We have this way of establishing patterns or routines in our daily lives. It can be good for stability but sometimes emotionally we need a bit of different air now and again. I want to tell you something. I've only ever taken showers for the last eight years. Imagine that! It's a great place for me to just focus sometimes, close my eyes and drift in thought because at that point I'm at the mercy of the water. It was kind of a gift to myself each day. Of course eventually it stopped being a gift because it became routine.

Isn't that something? So I decided to take a shower again this morning and paused on that. You never really know what you're missing if you're just content to repeat the same things over and over. After awhile you're repeating your choices and your day because there is a certainty in it. A safety. Eventually that safety has a way of losing joy. But I want you to know something. You can always add a little variety even in the smallest ways. Things that can add a new breath even if you don't plan on doing it again.

I took a bath...while having milk and cookies...and listening to Rupert the bear. ( Yes, I am an adult. ) and it felt..great. I dare say I'm in a better mood than I usually am. It's very easy to fall into patterns but it can be just as easy to try something different, something small, something new. At the center of ourselves we are like a tide that goes up and down. We can't condition ourselves to still waters. So give it a shot sometime. Go have cookies in the bathtub is what I'm saying...boy does that sound interesting when I take a step back to read that.
