The nameless cold prince fell so very far. Their eyes which witnessed the great crack, saw little more than darkness. 

Long ways they fell, touched by many, and held by none so that they would drift upon the abyss alone. Yet blind and weighed by the most terrible of pains, their eyes could see the fractured ring upon their wrists which would turn in perpetuity. 

Carried along them, a small, pale fire in their hands. Unable to provide warmth or light, it was a beautiful flame none the less in an embracing darkness.

Those who fall so very far may come to understand the great pains of the unconscious universe. They might see silent truths which bind us all together; meanings of a deeper yearning unrequited yet all the more precious to be embraced. They might even realize the wisdom of that which we can only describe as death. 

The teachers and givers alike understand the gift of silence, and value above all the clarity imparted by their lowly nature. The sun may be the grand mind of self which burns and flows...the valley the body of the self which nourishes and struggles...but the shadow of the valley....there the truth is always hidden. Always.
