I look at ourselves as the houses of our memories. All we are, are memories in the making. So whatever moments we have now are precious, and we should strive to give them greater comfort, greater meaning. 

I think for a lot of us, we lose sight of ourselves. That we lose perspective of how far we've come, and how much further we have to go. I want to believe...a lot of us think back now and again on how we were as teenagers and kids. That some of us laugh and shake our heads or cringe even. The way we were isn't the same as the way we are now. 

Some people really get caught up on that, you know...? Like they're trapped in the basement of their lives, dwelling on those memories, both good and bad.

I think...when we reach adulthood, so many of us believe things don't change. That this is the final part of us growing up, and that we are who we are once and for all. But that's not the truth really.

You never really stop growing, and you never really stop learning. And deep down I know we're all still just a bunch of kids trying to make sense of the world again. That's okay though. It's good to get out of the basement now and again. To breathe some fresh air. Some of us yearn for the sanctuary of the past. Of times we understood better, when the sun shined better. 

But the sun is still shining you know? Even now.
