Chapter 126

Kanae's army marched into Radevic unimpeded, but not without a mixture of protests and cheers from its citizens. They came out in droves, shouting obscenities and throwing spoiled fruits even with the Saint Priests among their ranks. Those that voiced their support for the Commonwealth and Eminence of Sin were drowned out by those against in greater numbers.

For now, it didn't seem as though Archbishop Gretchen managed to seize complete control over Aidenhall. They would have met resistance out here had she did.

However, seeing some familiar faces in the crowds from her church was proof enough that they were somewhat welcomed. As high priestesses, Kanae, Arenade, and Edina, were the target of most of their affection.

"Well, Radevic seems… nice," Arenade remarked, dripping with sarcasm.

"Can you blame them?" Edina basked in the shouts of both sides. "An army of undead, a bunch of succubus, and a military force from a neighboring country just walked into their homes. I'd be shitting bricks, too. Too bad for them, we're the ones doing the invading."

Delayn cleared her throat. "Ahem. You're not invading anyone. King Turren has kindly— and temporarily, mind you— allowed you to enter our great city."

Kanae kept her eyes peeled for any funny business in the crowd. If there was any time to ambush her army, it was out here in the cover of a crowd. She noticed one shady elven man, leaning against a tree. The crystal tip of his staff was beginning to glow with spellcasting intent. She was about to warn the Saint Priests until a pair of hands covered his mouth and dragged him into an alley.

"Uh…" Kanae rubbed her eyes and stared incredulously.

"What's the matter?" Arenade asked.

"Nothing. Maybe it's just my imagination," she said.

But it was happening all across the crowds. Suspicious folk were being taken out one by one without bias, and no one else noticed.

By the time they reached the shut gates of Aidenhall, Kanae cast her gaze back one more time and caught the eyes of a cloaked figure. A dark elven woman, accompanied by another with feline ears protruding from cut holes in her hood, raised a finger up to her smirking lips.

Well, Kanae wasn't going to question a good thing.

The two Saint Priests who had gone ahead from Lograin, Danito and Camilla, waited for them at the foot of the gates. They were surrounded by unconscious knights, likely rebels sympathetic to the archbishop's cause.

"Lilith." Kanae beckoned to the First Sister, who immediately flew up to them. "Scout the other side and secure the courtyard."

"At once, Mistress!" Lilith whistled for the Sisters of Sin to accompany her in flying over the wall.

Meanwhile, Delayn and Ulric dismounted to join their colleagues at the gate.

"What's the hold up?" Ulric asked.

"Do you not see the door that's in our way?" Danito retorted.

Two death knights and a bone brute, upon which Edina sat on its shoulder, lumbered forward.

"If you don't mind broken hinges, allow me!" Edina exclaimed eagerly.

"You're certainly welcome to try," Danito said.

The Saint Priests stepped away for the necromancer to do her thing. All three hulking undeads slammed into the giant iron doors, their greaves scraping the stone road as they pushed. Kanae nodded for Esta to join them, but the four couldn't so much as budge the gates.

Well… a gate wouldn't be doing its job if it opened so easily.

"Your brute force is commendable, but not even an adult dragon can dent it. The previous Grand Eye ordered the gates to be reinforced with adamantine rods. It is virtually unbreakable," Danito explained.

"We'll see about that," Kanae said, flying up to Esta and patting her on the back. "Bond."

She did the same to Edina. Both of them winced as incredible strength flowed through their bodies. For Esta, it was raw strength. For Edina, it empowered her spellcasting and ergo the power of her undeads. The ground directly beneath their feet cracked. Soon, the gates began to groan and creak, bending inwards until—

Crack!

A series of snapping from within the gates made everyone flinch. Both gates eventually toppled to the surprise of the Saint Priests. Pieces of adamantine, glittering blue metal, scattered across the ground.

On the other side, Lilith and the Sisters of Sin battled rebel knights pouring out of the palace.

"Forgive me, Mistress! It will only be a moment!" Lilith panted.

Had the knights not been juiced with anti-succubus magic, this would have been an easy fight. Hell, they might not have even needed the Saint Priests' help.

"Edina, take command of the Sisters of Sin. Stay here and fan out across Aidenhall's perimeter with your undead. No one escapes," Kanae ordered.

"You got it! Arise, Legion of the Dead!" Edina raised a massive army to begin marching along the inner walls.

"Ulric, you stay out here with them," Danito said.

"Ehh? But I wanna go with Queen Kanae." Ulric threw a tantrum.

"If anyone escapes, it's your arrows that can shoot them down. No complaining. The rest, to Aidenhall!" he boomed, advancing towards the palace entrance.

Kanae and Arenade led their forces up the grand stairs, battling countless knights that tried to keep them out.

"Master, they're closing the gates!" Esta cried, pointing to the top of the stairs.

Dozens of rebel knights rallied together to block the main force from getting through.

"Not if I can help it!" Arenade exclaimed and took a flying start. "Holy Armament: Battering Ram!"

Golden light enveloped Arenade whole, taking form as a ram-headed siege weapon that barreled through the line of rebel knights. She blasted through the gates before it closed shut, knocking both doors wide open. But after stumbling into the other side, her Holy Armament form dropped, and she was quickly surrounded on all sides.

"To your queen, now!" Kanae shouted.

Commonwealth forces flooded in to defend Arenade and bodied the knights. What they lacked in training and strength, they made up for in swarming numbers.

Kanae hurried in and picked up Arenade.

"That has to be the most versatile skill I've ever seen," Kanae said.

"Heh. Specific to high elven priests only!" Arenade puffed out her chest in pride.

A group of knights charged at them with spears. Kanae drew her new whip, Lust, and cracked the ground at their feet. They flinched.

"Heightened Haste!" Kanae cast the buff upon herself, raising the value of her DEX from B to A. Since Lust scaled off DEX, she lashed out with greater intensity.

An agile knight weaved through Kanae's attacks and got within a hair's length from them—

Only for Kanae to clamp down on his face with her tail pussy.

"Wha?!" Arenade gaped in disgust.

"Ahhh~ It feels so good… I can even orgasm from my tail now…" Kanae shuddered with joy as she sucked the knight of his mana. As soon as she let him go, he dropped to the ground, twitching. Her second vagina salivated like a starving dog.

"Yeah, I can't say the same about your skills…" She gagged.

The commotion from their battle was beginning to draw students and junior-knights from their rooms. They were finally mounting a counterattack after being trapped.

"Delayn, secure the entrance up to the dormitories. Ensure that our futures are protected. The rest of us will push our way to the Ocular Stronghold to rescue the Grand Eye and Vestrid," Danito instructed.

Kanae flew as high as the chandeliers to address her people. "Follow Delayn and help the trapped and injured! Don't forget, we're guests here in Aidenhall. But don't hold back. Show our allies the might of the Commonwealth of Sin! No raping and pillaging without consent!"

"Because consent is hot and consensual non-con is hotter!" they bellowed back.

The remaining Saint Priests squinted at Kanae and Arenade in exasperation.

"Don't look at me." Arenade shoved Kanae to the front of their judging stares. "It was her idea for a battle cry."

"I think we can worry about that after," Kanae said.

With every hall and chamber they liberated, the resistance grew in numbers. However, Aidenhall wasn't without its scars. Archbishop Gretchen's rebellion had done a number on the palace. The array of colored drapes along the corridors that Kanae had flown past many times were ripped and torn. Chandeliers had plummeted from their chains, lightless from their broken crystals. Desks and chairs in every schoolroom were broken and overturned.

While Kanae was distracted, she didn't notice the chanting mages up ahead.

"Get behind me!" Esta shielded Kanae and Arenade with her body.

A tsunami of flames rushed down the corridor.

"Greater Fire Resistance!" Danito slammed the base of his staff down in front of the coming fire.

As it engulfed them, Kanae was surprised that the burning spell… didn't hurt at all. The licking flames were a tickle against her skin. Only the carpet and drapes had caught fire around them.

"Chain Heal!" The Saint Priest cast something over his shoulder. A wave of soothing magic bounced from one person to the next, restoring any and all injuries sustained earlier. Satisfied that everyone was healed, he turned to his companion. "Camilla, close the distance."

Camilla dragged so deeply from her pipe, Kanae wondered just how black her lungs had become. She drew her rapier as the fumes escaped past her clenched fangs. Danito twirled his staff and created from it two portals, one in front of Camilla and the other before the spellcasters.

"En garde!" Camilla dashed through the portal to their panic. Her flurry of thrusts were a blur. By the second blink, all of them had collapsed. She went right back to smoking from her pipe again.

As everyone advanced, Kanae was too impressed by their teamwork to move.

"Why can't we fight that well together?" Kanae asked Arenade, causing her to trip over herself.

"Those are the best warriors of your generation! I've been nursing our kids and pushing paperwork at home, you know?" Arenade fired back.

"Very much so." Esta nodded. "The gap between a regular knight and a Knight of Color is wide, but the gap between a Knight of Color and Saint Priest is even wider. They have become such a force that Ortesia has established a similar order for their imperial lords."

An explosion rocked the palace from above. The fighting had grown more intense. They were about to catch up with the Saint Priests ahead when another, much closer explosion shook the floor above them.

Esta picked up Kanae and Arenade, carrying them away as the entire corridor collapsed. They had been separated from the rest by a giant wall of rubble.

"Can you hear me! Are you okay?" Danito's called out to them, his voice mostly dulled by all the debris in the way.

"We're fine!" Kanae shouted back. "Can you create a portal for us to go through?"

"Not without a line of sight, no! One misplaced portal, and you can end up as a paste!"

"Okay… maybe I'll just stay away from portals for as long as I live…"

"You should be able to find a route through the palace cathedral. We'll go on ahead first," Danito said.

Kanae, Arenade, and Esta raced down the halls, fending off rebel knights along the way. When they reached the cathedral, it was also unfortunately closed off.

"Without Edina's death knights, I don't think I can force it open alone," Esta said, lightly pressing her fist against the doors.

"Is it just me, or is there someone on the other side?" Arenade asked.

They pressed their ears to the door. Sure enough, the massive cathedral carried echoing voices across the chamber. It was dull and barely audible.

"There's got to be another entrance, right?" Kanae searched down the left and right of the empty corridors.

There was surprisingly no one else here. The battle was probably concentrated to the front of Aidenhall and at the Ocular Stronghold… then who was still inside the cathedral?

A cool wind blew in and caressed Kanae's cheeks. There was a window broken open at the end of the right hall. It must be connected outside, which means another way in.

They went over to investigate. Kanae flew out first, followed by Arenade. From out here, coursing winds battered them relentlessly. They were greeted by the stained glass windows all along the cathedral. A balcony connecting to the side corridors of the main chamber led into one of the sleeping quarters, likely for nuns and priests.

The two went back to carry Esta over. They entered into a modest room furnished with a bed and wardrobe closet.

Someone gasped.

A frozen nun at the door stared with her mouth open.

They pressed a finger to their lips to shush her. She whipped around, but not a moment too soon for Kanae to cast a charm and order her quietly back inside.

"Whew… Looks like they forgot to give the clergy potions. Or maybe she was just an innocent bystander." Kanae sighed.

With the element of surprise secured, they quietly navigated through the cathedral's narrower corridors.

"Where are we here?" Esta asked. "If you two can fly, we can just go around and join the others at the Ocular Stronghold."

"My hunch is telling me we should check out the main worship hall," Kanae said.

However, she noticed a familiar room instead. Archbishop Gretchen's office and bedchamber. Kanae pushed open the door. The heavy scent of sweat and sex permeated the air made her nose wrinkle.

"Ugh… This smells like your room back home." Arenade pinched her nose shut.

The room smelled of sex, which could only mean one thing…

Their answer lied at the back of the room. Lying in naked bed, wrists and ankles tied to the corner posts, blindfolded, and mouth stuffed with a cloth, was Runald.

"Runald!" Kanae raced over to pull the blindfold and gag off, and the high elf's eyes snapped open.

"K-Kanae?" Runald gasped. He was haggard and covered in sweat but otherwise perfectly fine.

"Geez, kid. What happened to you?" Arenade asked as she and Esta untied his restraints.

"Archbishop Gretchen happened!" he complained. "We stayed behind to protect the Grand Eye, but I couldn't help but be worried about Joap and Reen. I went to go find them, but that bastard Azure captured me. One thing led to another and… and… the archbishop has been making me have sex with her every waking moment! I didn't even know she was like that… as if possessed by succubus."

"Why would she do such a thing?" Esta almost didn't believe him if it weren't for his sorry state.

While they mulled over the question, the true culprit kept her lips sealed.

"There are more important things right now," Kanae said to steer their conversation away. "We regrouped with three of the six other Saint Priests. Two of them are heading to the Ocular Stronghold. Do you know if the Grand Eye is safe? Or where Archbishop Gretchen is?"

"Oh, I know… Grand Eye is safe, and I know for sure the archbishop is still around. She just had her way with me half an hour ago," he explained.

The three tensed up. Then those voices in the main chamber couldn't have been anyone else. Freed now, Runald began getting dressed.

"Stay here until the fight is over," Kanae said.

"What? Let me fight with you! How can I call myself a knight if I don't correct my own mistakes?" Runald asked.

"It's going to be dangerous out there. So stay put until we come get you," she ordered with a charm spell.

Runald's eyes glowed briefly, and he settled down at the foot of the bed.

Kanae nodded to Arenade and Esta. They marched straight for the cathedral's main worship hall, then slowed down as echoes of a distressed and agitated conversation reached them.

"Where are they? the Ortesian forces should have arrived by now! Why is the Commonwealth here first?" Archbishop Gretchen asked, her voice growing more hysterical by the word.

"We only saw Ulric, Danito, Camilla, and Delayn outside. Maybe the other three went to intercept them at Port Kandis?" That masculine voice belonged to Vander, the Knight of Azure.

Dalu'luna must be inside, too.

"Not another day… If this continues, I'm not sure how much longer I can stay sane. All because of this damn mark the succubus cur put on me! No matter what I do, it won't dispel. My magic is on par with the Grand Eye, so why? Why? Why? Why!" Gretchen cried.

"I'll dispel it if you surrender." Kanae stepped into the main chamber with Arenade and Esta to make themselves known.

Vander and Dalu drew their weapons immediately.

She continued, "It's over. King Turren is safe. Danito and Camilla should be rescuing the Grand Eye as we speak. Aidenhall is surrounded by a horde of undead, courtesy of my necromancer friend."

"That's right, Redbaron! It's time for you to suffer for what you did to me!" Arenade vaguely let slip her secret, but no one seemed to catch on.

"I don't even know who you are!" Gretchen grimaced.

Arenade shook a fist at her. "Bitch! I'll beat you so hard, your ancestors will know in your place!"

Archbishop Gretchen stepped down from the pulpit, shaking with anger. She was looking a lot more erotic than before. The robes clung to her tall and bodacious body from her recent sweaty romp with Runald. Her miter hat was gone, revealing disheveled hair that she hadn't fixed up.

"Oh, I see. You're the Queen-regent, concubine of the succubus cunt. I'm glad you three brought yourselves to me. You and your degenerate kingdom will fall! With the Supreme One as my witness, I shall pound you into holy oblivion!" She lifted her divine staff as it lit up with blinding light. "Holy Armament: Sword and Shield!"

Golden light beamed down and wreathed her in a suit of armor. Instead of the lance, she now wielded a longsword.

"Wait, what? How come my Holy Armament doesn't grant me a full suit of armor? That's not fair!" Arenade threw a hissy fit.

"Try now." Kanae patted Arenade on the shoulder and cast Bond.

The high elven priest cast her signature spell. Golden light engulfed her, dressing her from head to toe in armor. She summoned her most barbaric weapon, too. Big Fucking Hammer.

"That's what I'm talking about!" Arenade whooped. "I'll take the blindfolded chick."

"Fine with me. I'm owed a rematch with Vander," Esta said, drawing her greatsword to meet his own.

Kanae breathed deeply and switched on Sadism. The moment it activated, hearty laughter erupted from her lungs. She was filled with desire to corrupt the delicious piece of high elven meat that was already on the brink of falling. Whip her. Lick her. Eat her. To make her pay for even thinking of standing against a succubus.

"Oh, Gretchen~" Kanae cracked her whip. She flashed a devilish grin, and her tail opened wide with hunger. "I can't wait to make a permanent sex slave out of you! A filthy, breeding sow like you would look real nice with a leash on, don't you think?"
