End of Avialae/Upcoming Changes! (Patreon)

Hey hey Avialae will be ending this month for $5+ patrons (and will end publicly in Sept). I know y'all are sad to see it end, but if you love something (me) you'll let it go (me no draw wings anymore pls). So! Along with that there will be some changes to my Patreon and I'd like to keep y'all updated on that as I figure it out.

First of all, yes, I'm taking a short break. I have a family vacation planned at the end of the month (we are just isolating ourselves in a cabin bc there's still a pandemic going on obv). I will likely finish drawing the last few pages this week, and I'll be spending the rest of the month working on kickstarter stuff (more on that below) and drawing the extra for ch 6. The Hunt and Occultus will update as usual for the rest of August.

Yes, I'm doing a Kickstarter! Usually I'd just pay for the print run of an Avialae book myself, but  I need to reprint Ch 1 and Ch 2, and I'd like to do some extra stuff now that the series is wrapping up. So I figured a Kickstarter was the best way to do that. My assistant and I are still working out the details, but I know for sure the Kickstarter will include a slipcase for all 6 books, new Gannet/Bailey plush, and some extremely indulgent merch I've yet to commit to haha;; ($15+ patrons will still get a copy of Ch 6 outside of the kickstarter! I may end up putting Kickstarter merch on the private store so y'all can still get it without having to get two books) I haven't set a date for the launch of the Kickstarter, but it'll probably go up in early September if all goes well.

Once all the Kickstarter stuff is started I'll be refocusing my Patreon on The Hunt and my upcoming comic River St! This may not start until September/October since I'll be busy with KS and drawing the Ch 6 extra. But my current plan is to move The Hunt to 2 pages a week and start River St at 2 pages a week. I haven't quite figured out which tiers will be however many pages ahead for each comic, but I'll make an announcement when I get closer to starting River St. I'll try to keep the same level of rewards as the current tiers are (Occultus and physical rewards aren't changing).

Also...remember that gay pirate/merman book I started writing last year? I may have finished the first book. I will be editing it relentlessly so it's not quite ready for public consumption, but I may begin releasing it by chapters for patrons first. :3c Writing prose is a little intimidating for me, but I'd like to start doing it more because my brain puts out infinitely more gay stories than my body is capable of drawing.

You might be saying to yourself "Lucid, you've just finished a 6 1/2 year comic go take a fuckin BREAK!" To which I say I'd love to. But. There's a still a pandemic going on. If I'm going to take an extended break I'd prefer to travel during it, but I can't really do that right now. So I'll likely be taking a month off at some point in the distant future to do just that.
