Happy Halloween, everybody! Nothing spooky here, unless you fear the pokemans.

We'll be taking a look at the pokemon food chain in this animation. From the smallest creatures to the biggest monsters and some unexpected characters.

I'm having a lot of fun making this, I think it's been almost a decade since I worked on something pokemon related!

There's going to be 32 different characters in total, and my goal was to complete two pokemons everyday (vector, rigging, animation, everything). That was easy in the beginning because the starters have very simple shapes, but some of the evolutions have complicated designs and a lot of detail, so it's very difficult to finish more than one per day. Also I might have gotten a little bit carried away with the lighting and the shading, but it's still much easier to work on these characters than the ones in the Sana animation, who had no shading but lots of effects that the program couldn't handle. And speaking of the program, After Effects got updated this month, and now every layer in your comp can be a mask, which is such a game changer. It's one of those features that's so useful it should have been there from the beginning, and I'm really glad it's here now because it's helping me a lot in this animation.

But yeah, this was just a short update to show you guys some of the progress. There's still 16 pokemon left, so I'll be back in two weeks!
