Hi, everybody! I finally finished Matt's intro earlier this month. And I was hoping to share everything here in one big update, but Matt hasn't uploaded his video yet. So that is gonna have to wait till later (probably next week). For now, let's talk about the other stuff I did this month!

Here's another Sailor Horse video! I was afraid that people would lose interest after the Sailor Moon redraw meme ended, but thankfully that's not the case, I got a very positive response on twitter. I'm really glad that people are enjoying it!

Just like in the previous update, you guys can grab the assets down below:

Matt's intro was a lot of work, so I wanted to do something quick and fun before moving to another big project. I saw that the official Sonic Twitter was doing their own redraw challenge, and I thought it was a good opportunity to make some cool animated pixel art.

I learned how to make these animated sprites back in the Friday the 13th episode, I absolutely love them, and yet, I rarely make them. It drives me nuts! I'm also sharing these assets here today:

You'll need this plugin to view the dithering effect in After Effects. It's a paid plugin but they do have a free trial version.

No asset downloads for the new TBSP just yet, unfortunately. It's still too early.

After finishing the sonic redraw art I actually considered making this whole episode with pixel art. The Shantae games always had lovely pixelated characters and animations, so it would be a good fit. But I think I'm going to stick with the hand-drawn look for this one.

I'm trying out this rough edges effect to add a little bit of animation to the lines. It also blends vector lines with brush strokes pretty seamlessly, it's been working great with the static assets. The downside is that I have to break down the lines and the colors into multiple different layers to get the best result. We'll see how things work out with the characters rigs, if it gets too messy, I'll go back to regular lines :p
