Sneak Peek: OC Gala 2022 (Patreon)

I was going to take a longer art break but something called the OC Gala popped up on Twitter, supposedly inspired by the Met Gala and encouraging everyone to draw their OCs with the theme "vampire masquerade". I wasn't going to participate at first, but suddenly I got a stroke of inspiration:

Vampires -> Gothic -> Cathedrals -> Stained glass -> Stained glass dress?? 

So I've come up with this vampy gown inspired by stained glass, and also Venetian carnivals because those are the best type of masquerade. Since it's a full face mask I don't think it matters which OC is wearing this, but it's obviously Ira.

I freehanded this one because I didn't want to spend too much time on it, so the alignment of all the lines isn't perfect - but hopefully it's not too noticeable!

I actually came up with multiple color schemes for this gown - while the red and black one fits the theme best, my personal favorite is the orange gradient because it feels the most like stained glass. In my head I call the red variant Vampy, the orange variant Stained Glass, and the white variant Cathedral! 

Honestly I love drawing big gowns but always thought I did them too much, but then my friend Mai said that because I think I draw them too much I actually don't draw very many, so more big gowns are coming 😤
