So I've been thinking a lot about shifting my game a little bit. Here's an updated game pitch:

It's (very) tentatively titled Magical Girl Cafe and it'd be a game where you’re invited to run a cafe in a citadel for magical fashionistas. You’ll explore the citadel to harvest ingredients for gourmet desserts, teas, and more. You’ll gain cute outfits, tea parties, and maybe even a few magical powers along the way. In other words, it’s Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley but more food-focused and you get to do some real girly shit

I think I want the core game mechanic to be food focused instead of fashion focused. I always wanted to have both, but I just kept thinking more about the food mechanic so I think I want to focus on that.  Fashion will still be a thing! Having different outfits may let you access different ingredients or have different cooking skills. Even if I change my mind and go back to a fashion-focused game I still wanted to have a cafe (ie food gameplay) anyways so I need to draft this gameplay mechanic out regardless.

Any sort of fashion-related gameplay felt very competitive to me and not at all like the relaxed vibe that Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley gives. Also just thinking about food makes me happy so I figure it'll make anyone happy lol

The kind of cooking gameplay I'm trying to avoid: anything centered around timed minigames or restaurant management, so like Overcooked, Cooking Mama, or a variety of restaurant management games. Nothing against those games! I just think they have the "frantic cooking" vibe covered and I want to aim for a more "relaxed cooking" vibe

The kind of cooking gameplay I want to capture: Breath of the Wild, Professor Layton and the Elysium Box. Just more relaxing stuff you can do at your own pace. I haven't really found a lot of games that do stuff like this so if you know of any, please suggest them! And I'm down for any feedback in general as always ^^

I'm not a huge gamer, but maybe look into the crafting system of a phone game called Cat Game? I can't explain very well, but the difficulty increases with the levels, but you can go at your own pace (some people get discouraged by recipes taking too long tho, so I don't know how good is it xD)
