Part one for this fierce, and fiery redhead is complete, and it's hard not to be pleased with how it turned out.

The goal of this piece was to remake one of my favorite drawings and poses of my OC Lily, but even better. I was surprised by how much I had learned since making the original one a couple of years ago, improving many more things that I originally thought I would.

ow about that Erza though? She's a top-tier waifu, and this is only part one! I hope you enjoy it, for we have two more to come!

This piece just shows how much you've progressed. It's very much part of the 'redraw this 5 years later' theme. The shading is phenomenal, the details on her expression and her feet have improved. The contrast you've created between all the elements of the picture is really strong too, and blends into the scene really well. I can really tell you thought a lot about this and wanted to do right by the character too. This isn't just a pin-up piece, it's a love letter to the character of Erza. Nude or not, it's a really heartwarming picture, and you should be commended for that. In addition, is that the famous yellow bikini from the OVA you're depicting..? Very well done and I look forward to parts 2 and 3!

Thank you so very much Barefeetxpetrichor! You're kind words mean a lot. The original has held a special place in my heart since I made it, so I really wanted to do it the justice I felt it deserved. And to do it, I painted it in grayscale as you saw with the wip, that way I could get the contrast and values of the piece down before the coloring even took place. I have always had some trouble with colors and getting them the correct values, so going grayscale really does help my process a ton. Seeing the results makes me want to stick with it. I do like Erza a lot, I've drawn her a lot too, but I never thought I made a knockout piece of her, so I really wanted these drawings to be that. So I am very happy with how this one turned out, easily one of my all-time favorites. You're close! I referenced that OVA bikini when I started coloring, but luck would have it that I made the base layer too dark, and the highlight layer too bright, making it all look like gold. Seeing it, I loved it right away and went with a gold bikini instead.
