Hello everyone!
Been another crazy month, so crazy in fact that you all exceeded the top goal here! I'm now on the hunt for a Chronos 1.4 high speed camera, which will allow some very very cool shots of explosions and also fire. I'm currently bidding on a slightly used one that is a lot cheaper than buying it brand new, so hopefully that goes through, and it'll be in my possession in the next month or so (maybe longer).  Can't wait!!

Also, a while back we had a goal for a furnace. Been a bit dragging my feet on it but was looking at a real nice one for about USD$1000. I have however changed my mind, and don't think we'll get a whole lot of use out of it for now, and would rather spend the money on something that'll have a nice immediate use.

So instead, I was planning on spending the money set aside for the furnace on a nice spectrometer. This will tie into my next planned project, where we look at coloured flash powders. Having the spectrometer to be able to identify emission peaks from different exotic elements we'll be using really adds something to the video I think, taking it from just being something cool and fun, to being cool, fun and a little bit technical, which is what I aim for with the Ex&Fire videos.

I'll have a longer post soon laying out some of the future plans for upcoming videos and projects, but for now I just wanted to say thank you to all the new people and for everyone who's been here a while for hitting that top goal! So cool

Thanks, Tom

Oh btw, if you have any ideas for even higher goals... its always nice to work towards things I suppose? But what could be that expensive without being ludicrous. Hm.

Punkey

If it enables more projects, it might be worthwhile for just a general upgrade of lab equipment and glassware. Boring, but practical.
