The next video is coming along! I wanted to share this gif because I thought it was pretty cool. I've always wanted to isolate and dry out some 'fulminating silver' properly, as it has an extreme sensitivity even when damp and on a filter paper. I was not disappointed with the sensitivity of the dried stuff! Just poking at it very gently and it all loudly disappears...

One of the most sensitive compounds I've ever made. Really excited to put the whole video together, including the fulminating silver, gold and mercury! Thanks!

I’m surprised it didn’t make a hole in that spoon

ExplosionsandFire

Plastic is quite hard to drill a hole through, it's too... bouncy? But it seems the damp solid explosive reacts with aluminium foil, so I couldn't do the normal test where we try and put a hole through aluminium foil

You could put a piece of thin kitchen wrapping foil below it. That should at least help against the reaction. I think another name is adhesion foil. Its stretchy but it should still be able to transfer the inertia to the aluminium foil below. I know a compound though that would drill a hole in a spoon no matter if it's metal or plastic. Do you know the famous spoon picture from the science madness forum?
