Current Projects for Future videos (Patreon)

Hello all! As part of being here, you get to see what projects i'm working on for Explosions&fire. For project management sake, I try to work on three at a time; a short, medium and long project, to try and balance frequent uploads while still taking on long projects.

Let's check what the project plans were from the last Patreon post. Seems the last update post was... a while ago. But I do hope to move things a bit quicker at the moment (I'm trying!).
Short Project (0-1 Extract&Ire vids):
Alkali metals and chlorinated solvents.

Medium Project (1-3 Extract&Ire vids):
Napalm 1 vs Napalm 2.

Long Project (3+ Extract&Ire vids):  
bis-(5-nitro-2H-tetrazolato-N2)tetraammine cobalt(III) perchlorate (BNCP)


We completed the alkali metals video of course, so we get to replace that with a short project. Hmmm what to pick... I think we shall try and revisit an old video? Fulminating gold?

I do get comments requesting fulminating gold, and I often say 'oh i've done that' but then the video is many years old, a little cringey and super low quality. So it's worth revisiting I think. To go with it, I might also combine it with a remake of my fulminating silver? Also an interesting compound, and also a very old video (the stain on my ceiling is still there though):  https://www.bitchute.com/video/zeb0dUxYWOkZ/

Finally, to round out the video, lets look at fulminating mercury? I haven't cracked out the mercury in a while (which is understandable) but it gives another very sensitive fulminating compound, perhaps the most sensitive, if I recall correctly.

So, should be a lot of small explosions, as we navigate our way through some of the most sensitive energetic compounds you'll see! And shouldn't take a decade or so to make the video. When I say 'remake', I do mean film it all again, and do the chemistry again, but at least I know that the chemistry works....


The Napalm project has not made any progress. Will still leave it as the active project for now but... if I don't make any progress on it before the next update, maybe it's time to move on for the moment. I need to design and build a small scale flamethrower. What's a napalm video without at least an attempt at a demonstration?

Finally, the long project is BNCP. Good news! Made some good progress with this complex. Very good progress. This should be the next main video! Not entirely sure how the final video will look, but i'm excited to bring you some new tetrazole content!
