Now that I've looked at the Files: Why did you make them modular in this way? Having the legs and upper bodies seperated, but without any choice when it comes to the legs, is rather pointless. The miniatures will not look any different, unless there are three clearly different leg poses. The weapon heads are the only Thing that makes them modular, but they are also something that will be tedious to glue to the weapons shaft and will break off easily. Therefore my advice for Future releases: Make the Heads modular, since they truely change the way a Miniature looks and they don't take up much space on a Plate. Include some weapon Options for each Kind. For example I wouldn't be able to build up a unit of Longbraids with Shields, because there's only one such Body with a fixed head, which means all would look the same. In General people want modularity to be able to make large Units without everyone looking the Same, or to build up Units with weapon Options of their choice. Modularity that doesn't allow for these things has no use, it is even damaging because it takes up more space on the printers Plate. I hope you understand what I want to say and do it better next time :)

Additionally it would be great to have one complete, assambled STL of a Dwarf in there, to scale them down (or up) more easily. I can then simply take the percentages from that and scle down all the parts accordingly. It's hard to do that, when there are only single parts. ;)

I'm more conflicted about this set that any released by anyone I've been a patron of. Visually this may well be your best work yet. Really captures the older feel you were going for while still fitting into the newer stylings. Same for the braids, being sensible mixed in or as their own. Well deserving of the praise you've received so far. Unfortunately there are some other issues that make this of my least favorite releases. Foremost is the lack of modularity. I rejoined early in the month when you were still planning arms. Those pics have since been removed. I don't necessarily mind not having it but planning then removing and replacing with the torso/legs thing is not very useful, as stated above. The bigger impact in this situation is that by making a few longbeards and a few longbraids and not having things such as command arms switchable, neither of them is a complete unit. I was hoping to switch out arms with future or past releases (like a longbraid runesmith) as well. Being unable to do that without meshmixer greatly devalues the set from my initial expectations. It also leaves me unsure of future releases if I would have to wait for a month of Longbraid Runesmith, then a month of Longbeard Hero, etc. when if they had been modular I'd be able to have them now and us move on to something else. Likewise when the patron asked for Hammer heads and you replied yes but then decided no you'll "Do a whole unit later". Yet you did include the halberd and spear heads which leads the assumption that you don't believe a unit of dwarf spearmen would serve for a month release but hammers would. Indeed I would agree to that, and it's even simple enough to mod a hammerhead onto these pieces but again since these models are not able to be personalized beyond leaning forward there's little point to it. I was looking forward to doing just that, using older heads from past releases and mixing up weapons. Instead stuck with the limited heads and only great weapons. I've no doubt I'll be a continually returning patron. The work is stellar and I want a complete dwarf army from you. The changes over this release cause me to think I may need to wait until things are actually released however. My apologies for being critical, your work is constantly improving. Perhaps you're moving away from rank and file, either way I wish the best towards it. Your style is important to the overall miniature community.

Anonymous

Hi just joined, how can I access the January release?

Anonymous

Sorry for the "just joined how do I access the models", but I just joined how do I access the models?

What scale are these models? I just printed off a small batch and they seem to be quite large compared to my warhammer dwarves. Irritatingly I'll have to manually support them if I scale them down cos the supported stls won't scale well.

Anonymous

Thanks for the reply. Right so they're a bit oversized for Warhammer dwarves (which average about 20mm tall and my prints are coming out at 26.5mm). Therefore scaling down by 75-80% should do it (for anyone elses reference). I'll see if the supports can handle that scale down and report back.

80% is about the right scale and more importantly the supports seem to work ok scaled down to that level. I'm trying a more extensive test but so far so good.

Do I have to ask for the download link? In utterly confused on how to get these.

Hi! I have a question about these, I'd like to purchase them from somewhere, ideally the supported version, however the gumroad ones appear unsupported. Where can I grab the supported files?
