Hey everybody,

I just wanted to mention a few more things in regards to what I've been working on.  In addition to my last post, here are some cool new features coming to House Party in the next build!


  • Added relationship status bars.

Now, when interacting with a character, you will see a relationship gauge showing your current relationship with the character.  This will show you how certain actions can change their perception of you.


  • Added a cool new frame to the dialogue avatars to go with the bar.

Mostly a cosmetic update, but it looks really cool!


  • Adjusted dialogues so after you choose an option it goes away (unless it is needed).

Self explanatory.  Some of you  have mentioned that having access to the same responses over and over seems buggy, and just adds to confusion.  This should no longer be an issue.


  • Adjusted sound so it is in 3D.

Pretty cool stuff.  As you walk away from the living room where the music is playing, the sound of the music will get softer, and vice verse.  This happens with all audio now.


  • Added real-time shadows.

Lighting shadows have been added to the game.  The quality of the shadows changes as you select various game quality choices.


  • Added a new "Give" command for Non Player Characters.

Until now, you would have to wait until an item was in your inventory to get a dialogue option to give the item to an NPC.  Now you can directly access a "Give" option from the radial menu, and this will prompt giving an item to a character.  This also adds a whole other aspect of funny responses you can get from trying to give players random things.


  • Added a new "Use With..." command for interactive item and inventory items.

Now you will be able to use items with Inventory items.  In some cases, this will be beneficial, but in most cases, it will just elicit a funny response.


There will be a new beta version coming very soon to $10.00+ pledgers only, and then once it is solid, it will be released for public testing.

wow, really nice enhancements you've made here. Can't wait to test this :) The game is getting better and better

Thank you! Yes, this next coming build is feeling really solid. I think I will have something for the $10+ pledgers to look at on Tuesday, while I fine tune it and get it ready for a pulbic beta release.

Great stuff! Can't wait to see the new version, but I am curious. When can we expect to be able to get laid with the girls? Haven't seen any sex animations etc. Would love to know how far youve gotten in that process.

I've already started playing around with what's called Inverse Kinematics (IK) which basically allows me to set up custom directions to a characters limbs and body parts to be combined with animations to put them in more of a state that lends itself toward sex scenes. I have some cool stuff coming up in the next update that demonstrates this (for instance, Patrick now holds the bottle of wine out toward you so you can take it when you ask him for it), so this will kind of give you a taste as to what's possible moving forward. This is my current plan to approach these scenes. I am disclaiming now, that it may or may not work, but as far as I know, it's never been done before, so I feel like I might be on to something. :)
