Patreon & SubscribeStar (Patreon)

Hey Patrons!

Sorry for this long, long post, but we do need to talk about a few things with you all. Here goes:

Some of you may remember that we created a post regarding the announcement which Patreon made last week.

TL;DR: After trying for years to convince people to switch to subscription billing, which would be disruptive to both patrons and creators, they are now forcing it on all of us so that they can appease Apple.

Since then, we have been able to glean more information regarding the situation. We joined Patreon's Discord server and, with thousands of other creators, voiced both our concerns and our annoyance with their decision. One of the concerns we voiced was surrounding what this apparent submission to Apple's will, would mean for the adult creators who use this site.

Patreon decided to respond to everyone who voiced concerns... except for any of the concerns relating to adult content. Unfortunately, this does not bode well. We suspect (along with many other adult creators) that this means our days on this platform are essentially numbered as Patreon will more than likely use Apple's ToS as an excuse to jettison all adult content from their platform once and for all.

Let's be honest: This has been coming for a long time, now. We've watched as other creators have been dinged and removed from the platform as Patreon has started to be more and more strict about their adult policies. Honestly, we're surprised that we haven't yet been told that what we're doing is in violation of some rule or the other.

So! For the time being, we are staying on this platform. We will continue to use Patreon as if nothing is going on and we'll stick to monthly billing as we have been, for as long as we can. We have also opened a SubscribeStarAdult page as well. It operates much like Patreon, though it is slightly behind in some ways.

For the time being, we are going to keep both our Patreon page and our SubscribeStar page going, and post everything onto both platforms, simultaneously. That way, if this page ever suddenly disappears for whatever reason, there will be a backup to transition to without any issues. We will start to advertise both pages from here on out.
