UPDATE/ HL Episode 12/ Love Island feedback (Patreon)

Hey guys! 

I’m going to start filming episode 12 of HL this week.

I appreciate all the feedback on Love island! As a writer/producer, everything I do in the script is for a reason. Whether it be from a drama standpoint or for potential character/relationship development later on in the show. Love island is a rollercoaster of a show. Your favorites in episode 1 may not be your favorites in episode 6. New people come in, couples break up and some islanders go home. Episode 1 of the show and the first coupling is usually the least indicative of how the season will go lol. And for that reason, not much thought went into the optics of the coupling. I knew that I wanted Zeke and Nina to be a couple and I knew that I wanted Angel and Bo to be a couple. I wrote drama in between to make it more interesting but that was always going to be the result of the coupling. I get how as a viewer everything is taken at face value and I can see how it seemed as if the dsbw was being subtly discriminated against. I also wasn't paying much attention to it because Rockelle, a white latina, also stepped forward and wasn't picked. So I apologize if anyone felt uncomfortable watching it because that truly wasn’t my intention at all. Nina is beautiful and confident and knows she’s the prize which is why she gave Zeke a hard time for not choosing her lol. I don't intend on mirroring the way dsbw are treated on these shows with this project at all.
